Receipt Diff
Compare answer versions across evidence changes
Receipt Diff provides a visual comparison tool for examining how CueCrux answers have evolved over time by placing two versions of a CROWN receipt side by side and highlighting every difference between them. It transforms the abstract concept of answer evolution into a concrete, inspectable record that auditors, researchers, and compliance teams can use to understand what changed, when, and why.
The diff interface displays both receipt versions in parallel, with colour-coded annotations highlighting the differences. Added evidence, chunks that appear in the newer receipt but not the older one, is highlighted in green. Removed evidence, chunks that were present in the older receipt but absent from the newer one, is highlighted in red. Modified evidence, where the same source document appears in both receipts but with different content due to an update, is highlighted in amber with the specific changes indicated.
Confidence score changes are displayed prominently alongside the evidence diff. If the trust gradient for a particular claim shifted from high to moderate confidence between the two receipt versions, the diff shows both scores and links to the evidence changes that caused the shift. This connection between evidence movement and confidence impact helps users understand the causal chain behind answer evolution.
Conclusion changes are the most significant elements in a receipt diff. When the synthesised answer itself has changed, the diff highlights the specific claims that were modified, added, or removed, connecting each change to the underlying evidence movement that triggered it. Users can follow the chain from a changed conclusion back through the confidence adjustment to the specific evidence additions or removals that drove the change.
Receipt Diff integrates with several other platform capabilities. The Watch Surface uses receipt diffs to present structured change notifications, showing users exactly what changed in answers they subscribe to. The Signals Feed links to receipt diffs for every answer update event. Deterministic Replay produces receipt pairs that are naturally suited for diff comparison. And Temporal Reconstruction uses receipt diffs to show the difference between a historical answer state and the current state.
The diff can be exported as a standalone document for inclusion in audit reports, compliance filings, and legal submissions. The export includes the full evidence detail and cryptographic verification data, creating a self-contained record of answer evolution.
For the CueCrux platform, Receipt Diff makes answer evolution transparent and inspectable. It ensures that no answer change goes unrecorded or unexplained, supporting the platform's commitment to ongoing accountability for every claim it produces.
